About
The young Kuwaiti Monira Al Qadiri is one of the important artistic voices of the Gulf region. Poetically, she combines the social upheavals of the last 30 years as well as the acute effects of the oil industry and belief systems with traditional elements from myth and history. By symbolically showing the bridge between the past and the present - for example, glass as a ghostly trace of drilling machines in the desert - she speculates, as it were, into a possible future. The book provides a moving insight into Monira Al Qadiri's work of the past years.
